Battle for a Better Cause
Friday, October 18, 6p.m., Briar Woods High School, Ashburn, VA
Stand Up in Memory of Gavin Rupp!
Briar Woods vs Broad Run's Annual Football Game to bring our community together for a "Battle" that is bigger then just a single game. This year we are going to remember Gavin Rupp, a Broadlands resident who lost his valiant 3 year fight against brain cancer this past July, at age 13.
Let's all get together to raise awareness for childhood cancers and increase funding, nationally. Currently, only 4% of the entire research budget is allocated for childhood cancer research. This is far too little for a problem that is far too great. Please join with us as we raise funds for iPromise15, the scholarship fund, started in Gavin's name. This fund will help aspiring cancer researchers pursue their goals of finding better treatments for children, and, ultimately a cure for this horrific epidemic.
Please share and invite your friends. We will be selling the t-shirts for $10 - checks made out to Briar Woods Athletic Booster Club (BWABC) If you'd like to make a donation, those can be made out to the Gavin Rupp Medical Fund (currently being reestablished as iPromise 15). Help us spread the word!
Monday, October 21st at 1 pm at the Chantilly National Golf and Country Club.
The Inaugural Gavin Rupp Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, October 21st at 1 pm at the Chantilly National Golf and Country Club. Spread the word! They will be looking for golfers, hole sponsors and a Title Sponsor.
Please help us honor Gavin Rupp and raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer. Gavin passed away this past July after a courageous 2 1/2 year battle with brain cancer. One of Gavin's wishes was to eradicate childhood cancer. This tournament and banquet will help us achieve that goal in his honor. Gavin will remain in our hearts forever.
