The Gavin Rupp "IPromise 15" Scholarship was created to honor Gavin's spirit, courage and strength displayed during his life before and after being diagnosed with cancer.  Gavin embraced the virtue of "Paying it Forward" both in his day to day interactions, as well as in how he approached his cancer battle.  In honor of this, the "IPromise 15" Scholarship has been established and will embody "Paying it Forward" and carry on Gavin's legacy.

 

The scholarship is established through the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties.  At least one scholarhip will be awarded each spring to a student pursuing a career in the health sciences field with an interest in pediatric oncology.  Gavin and his family were grateful for the wonderful medical team members that supported him throughout his battle with cancer.  It is their hope that providing a scholarship to a student that will one day work with other pediatric cancer patients, the scholarship recipient can "Pay it Forward" to many others for years to come.
